Mary “Missy” Hadobas of Weirton passed away on Monday, March 31, 2025, at her residence. She was 66 years old.

Born on May 16, 1958, in Weirton, Missy was the only daughter of Gabriel and Mary Grantonic Hadobas.

A lifelong resident of Weirton, she graduated from Weirton Madonna High School in 1976 and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology from Franciscan University in 1980.

Missy was employed within the AGH Healthcare system and retired with over thirty years of dedicated service.

Missy was a woman of deep faith and unwavering devotion. Her love for Madonna High School and her cherished St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church was evident in every aspect of her life. She was a familiar face at St. Paul’s, where she served faithfully as a greeter and CCD teacher.

Her gentle spirit and kind heart especially endeared her to the parish children, with whom she shared a very special bond.

A selfless and creative soul, Missy found joy in making handcrafted greeting cards for her friends and family, always marking life’s special moments with her personal touch. She loved to travel and treasured the many adventures she shared with her brother Joe and his wife Toni, exploring places like New York, Chicago, and California.

Missy’s close cousins were more than relatives; they were her extended family and brought immense joy to her life. Her happiest moments were spent surrounded by those she loved most.
Missy was preceded in death by her parents.

Left to cherish her memory with love and admiration are her brother Joe (Toni) Hadobas of Pittsburgh and many loving cousins.

Friends can visit Missy’s family on Thursday, April 3, from 4 to 7 pm at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 4, at 10 am at St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church, 140 Walnut Street, Weirton, WV.

Fr. Binu Sebastian will preside.

Burial will follow immediately in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Steubenville.

  2. I am very sorry to read of Mary’s passing. It was always nice to see and speak to her. Out St Paul’s community certainly lost a wonderful person in Mary Hadobas.
My thoughts and prayers are with her family

  3. I worked with Mary many years at AGH. She was a very kind and thoughtful friend. Thoughts and prayers to her family.

  4. I worked near and then with Mary for a number of years. I am so thankful for the knowledge shared with me when I had to do hematology after doing only chemistry for over 20 years. I was also grateful for her kindness when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. She will be missed

  5. She was my 1st best friend (of course, we were probably 3 or 4). We did everything together. I just can’t imagine life without her. She was the sweetest person I know. The kindest most gentlest person. She had a tough time with the chemotherapy and that ugly word she hated but God was so merciful and took my best friend. I am being selfish because I want her here on earth but I guess God needs her in heaven to look over us. Please watch over us Missy. Please say hello to your Mom and Dad and my Mom and Dad and Chuck and all our family and friends. We love them all and miss them but most of all, we miss you! Love you forever. Diane!

  6. I worked with Mary for many years at AGH. She was a great coworker, teacher and friend. She was my biggest cheerleader. She was always so thoughtful. She made cards for my whole family, I know these past months were hard for her but she always wanted to show me her support. I will miss her terribly. I know she is watching over us all of us from Heaven. Rest in peace my dear friend. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family.

  7. We are more than heartbroken over Missy’s passing. Although not blood related, but family just the same through marriage. We will miss her smiling face and kind heart at family get togethers. Always looked forward to hearing her kind words and laughter. May her spirit continue to bless us all.

  8. I have worked with Mary for many years. She was the highlight of our weekend crew. She made everyone’s life better, always caring and loving. We had so many things planned for after her treatments~ Denmarks at Steubenville. I will never forget you Mare!!! 😢

  9. Miki and I are shocked and saddened at the news of Mary’s passing. I always enjoyed reminiscing with her about our St. Paul’s grade school days. And she always had a cheery smile for Miki and I when she was a greeter at 8:30 mass. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Mary’s entire family.

  10. Upon starting my career in the lab, Mary was the first smiling face I was introduced to. In my short time knowing her, Mary continued to be the same smiling face I had met on my first day. A true mentor, listener, and friend above all. I will always remember Mary as one of the most kind hearted, faithful, and friendly women I have been blessed to know. May God embrace Mary in His arms, and embrace all of us on earth who love and miss her so dearly. May happy memories of Mary guide us through heartache. My thoughts and prayers go out to her loved ones with sincere sympathy❤️

  11. Mary was a very kind, patient and generous person. I worked in the lab with her for many years. Always pleasant, always willing to lend a hand and always eager to share the knowledge she gained over her years as a Med Tech. She will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her. My prayers to her family, God bless you!

  12. What a profound blessing it has been to be Missy’s cousin.
    I just can’t believe she’s gone.
As far back as I can remember Missy was a special part of my life. She’s always been such a sweet and kind member of our family. I love Missy, and I know she was loved by everyone who knew her.
Our family gatherings and happy times will never be the same without her lovely spirit.
She had such a difficult time these past few months. It made me so sad to see her suffering. I am happy she’s now free from it all.
She’s gone home to our Lord. . I just think how ecstatic Aunt Mary Catherine and Uncle Gabe (my Mom, Dad and all our Aunts and Uncles) are to see her again. I know she was met with unspeakable joy and love.
Save a seat for me at the craft table my dear cousin. I know we’ll all be together again someday.
I love you and miss you,
    Paula
